Shiina Ringo - Meisai (Camouflage)

For tabulanonrasa, Shiina is one of the most talented songwriter/performer/vocalist/instrumentalist/arranger/pop icon I’ve ever come across. 

This song was a swing tune she worked on with her band (a lot of the members who came to form Tokyo Jihen and trained in jazz) and you can definitely hear the influence but it comes out rather differently. And this is what you expect with Shiina: tunes with influences of either jazz, j-pop, rock, traditional Japanese music with the koto, string quartets, trance, and much more, but all with a very interesting spin.
